This was a coal mine I scratchbashed a couple of years ago for my Poor Fork RR & Mining Co., a freelance N scale layout, deoicting eastern KY RR ops in the 1930's...I named it after my late friend, Robin Mathysen
(I apologized to him at the time for the misspelling...He was, of course, very gracious about it)
Here's a view of the head house & tipple...I made this from pieces from an HO Walthers Champion Packing Co. kit...
Here's a view of the mine office/shed...this is a kitbashed Model Power farmhouse...
This is a little boiler house that I made with some scrap pieces of brick wall, & some HO fencing...
This layout only exists in photos now...I dismantled it about a year ago...I posted these pics because Tyson had mentioned that we needed some posts here in the mining forum...Hopefully, some other folks will post some of their mining pics as well! |

Very nice indeed. I love N scale and wish my eyes would let me do detail like you have done.
